Various studies have been made regarding the impact of antioxidants and other compounds contained in tea in cancer prevention. And even though the lab tests were performed on animals, the results are surprising. Drinking tea on a regular basis can potentially inhibit carcinogenesis (the formation of cancer) in different organs – skin, lung, esophagus, colon, and liver, just to name a few.
It is worth mentioning that the effect of green tea on cancer cell growth is the most widely studied among all tea categories.
