#1 – Salmonella Poisoning

Eating raw fish and ill-prepared meat can likely cause a nasty foodborne illness, Salmonella.

Unfortunately, it’s not rare to get salmonella poisoning by eating sushi. In fact, consuming raw sushi has even been linked to viral infections, such as norovirus, which can spread very quickly causing a great deal of diarrhea and vomiting among other nightmarish symptoms.

So, should you eat sushi? Well, yes, but you need to always go for smaller fish to lower the risk of getting infected and sick. Also, always ask your sushi restaurant about their seafood origins. Mainly, steer clear from fish that’s been caught near reefs or farm-raised.
