Cloves are very rich in antioxidants. They contain eugenol, a compound that acts as a natural antioxidant (just to give you an idea of how powerful it is, eugenol is five times more effective in stopping oxidative damage than vitamin E, known as one of the most efficient immune system booster vitamins), and vitamin C.

These antioxidants help the immune system by combating oxidative damage and free radicals. They also increase the white blood cell count, which in turn helps the body fight off infections and bacteria-related issues.
