7. Heart attack

Shoulder and arm pain are common symptoms of a heart attack. People usually assume that a heart attack only provokes pain on the left side of the body. Although that happens more frequently, it doesn’t mean that right arm and shoulder pain can’t be signs of an incoming heart attack. Especially if they are accompanied by other symptoms such as nausea, chest pain, shortness of breath, dizziness, increased heart rate, and excessive sweating. If you suspect you are having a heart attack, call 911 immediately. The faster you receive medical assistance, the more likely you are to survive this event without any serious health consequences. Treatment Most cases of shoulder injuries are fairly simple to solve and do not require any kind of medical attention. You only need to get proper rest, apply ice or heat to the region affected, and wait a few days – if necessary, take ibuprofen to reduce inflammation and to handle the pain better. Dislocations and fractures need to be treated at the hospital because a medical professional will have to put the shoulder back in place and lock it down while it heals. Again, getting proper rest is the best thing you can do to heal most of the shoulder and muscle injuries. In some severe injuries or when the body doesn’t heal as supposed, your doctor will have to inject anti-inflammatory medicine directly into the joint, or even recommend surgery to fix the problem.
