#2 – Sweat allergy
Allergy to one’s own sweat is called cholinergic urticaria which results in itching, burning, and stinging sensations and irritating rashes that mostly appear on the skin of your arms. The cause of this unusual allergy is not the sweat but rather the protein secreted by bacteria on the skin.
If you’re allergic to sweat, your skin may break out in hives when you sweat profusely during exercise or during a hot or humid summer day.
Cholinergic urticaria treatment may involve immunosuppressives, antihistamines, or leukotriene inhibitors.
