#1 – Water allergy
Yes, you read that right. You can be allergic to water.
This allergy is called aquagenic urticaria but it’s also known as water urticaria which can cause you itchiness, rashes or hives as soon as you come in contact with water, be it from rain, swimming pools, sea, etc.
Aquagenic urticaria is not caused by water itself but rather due to an allergen in water that triggers an immune response when it enters the skin. But don’t worry, the allergen only affects the skin, so you can still drink water!
If you’re wondering how you can shower with aquagenic urticaria, just shower as you usually do. The rash fades within 60 minutes anyway!
