#4 – Changes In Bowel Habits

Whenever you find that your intestinal transit has stopped working like a clock and you have painful bowel movements, it is a sign to be concerned. Firstly, because there is nothing like having the intestinal flora regulated. Then because you get the feeling that everything is working perfectly without any bowel movement problems, which regulates your mood and everyday well-being.

• Constipation

Constipation is very common for those who do not go to the bathroom often, for those who have a diet poor in water and fiber or even for those who take some medication (antidepressants, corticosteroids, anti-inflammatory, among others). However, if you are more constipated one day or another, there is nothing to worry about; but if you are every day you should consider that this may be one of the symptoms of colon cancer.
Constipation occurs when there are less than 3 bowel movements per week, causing hard, dry stools, bloating, and severe abdominal discomfort. Be always aware of your trips to the bathroom.

• Diarrhea

On the other hand, if you have very soft or liquid stools, it is a sign that your colon is not working well either. There must always be a balance (neither too soft nor too hard) because there are several colon diseases associated with diarrhea.
If diarrhea lasts longer than 24 hours, you should consult your doctor for an opinion – colonoscopy is the most appropriate rectal exam to rule out colon diseases and more severe cancers – prostate cancer discovery stems from an analysis of the patient’s rectum.
