Chest pain can actually signal a life-threatening infection like an inflammation of the sac around the heart (pericarditis) or inflammation of the heart (myocarditis.)
People who already suffer from a heart problem, such as congestive heart failure, would be at greater risk if they had an infection resulting from the flu.
