Though sleeping on your side is generally considered a healthy position, it still comes with some cons.

Due to the over-rotation of your pelvis when you’re sleeping on your side, you may end up with lower back pain. So it’s highly recommended that you support your waist and upper leg with a pillow to avoid such problems.

But which side are we talking about, by the way? Both the right and left sides. Except that sleeping on your right side is not right at all as it may cause you heartburn (gastroesophageal reflux) which occurs when the stomach acid rises to the esophagus, according to studies.

Meanwhile, sleeping on your left side tends to calm your heartburn and forces the stomach contents to remain in their place while you’re peacefully sleeping!
