6.How to wash your hands:

-Wet your hands entirely with the clean, running water and turn off the tap. The temperature of the water is irrelevant.

-Apply soap to your hand.

-Rub your hands together and scrub them for at least 20 seconds (that’s the recommended time, so make sure you do it for that long!)

-Scrub the back of your hands thoroughly, the space between your fingers, and under your nails. It is very important to reach the entire surface of your hands up to your wrists.

-Rinse your hands under running tap water.

-Dry your hands using a clean disposable paper towel.

After finishing the hand washing process, you must not touch any other surface in the bathroom with your hands. That includes the faucet handle, hand dryers, and the door handle.

Otherwise, your clean hands will get easily contaminated. It is also worth mentioning that you don’t need anything else besides soap and water!

Hand sanitizer and alcohol spray solutions should only be used when you don’t have access to soap and water. In short, these are the places not to touch in public bathrooms with your hands (if possible):

-Door handles and doors

-Water faucets

-Door locks (inside the bathroom stall)

-Hand dryers

-Soap dispensers

-Sinks

If you follow these basic hygiene rules presented in the guide, you probably will never get sick from simply urinating in a shopping mall or restaurant bathroom. However, if you don’t minimize your exposure to germs, here’s a list of common diseases you can get from a public bathroom:

-Bacterial infections (staphylococcus, streptococcus, E. coli)

-Influenza virus (the common flu)

-Common cold

-Hepatitis A

Oh, and don’t believe anyone who tells you that you can get STD from a toilet seat. That just isn’t possible!
