The surface where you prepare your food requires proper care. Especially because scientists discovered that a cutting board has 200 times more fecal bacteria, on average, than a toilet seat.
That’s because when you are cutting raw meat, the fecal bacteria present in the internal organs is released and contaminates both the knife, the cutting board, and your hands (as well as other kitchen items you use along the way).
Wash all these things properly both before and after preparing your food, even if that means that you have to wash them several times during the cooking process!
