Doctors at the University of Chicago’ Cold Hand Clinic use Botox off-label to treat individuals who suffer from severely cold hands.
They do so by injecting Botox into the patient’s hand to make the muscles that surround constricted blood vessels relax, thus improving blood circulation as soon as the vessels enlarge. This allows the blood flow to reach the fingertips and offer great relief, which can last up to 3 months.
