8. Talk with your kids about some of their favorite memories

Another great way to exercise the memory muscle is to recall past events and describe them out loud. It forces us to visualize what we lived in our heads and quickly transform those thoughts into words. Talking about something that happened in your past may seem simple, but the process behind it is very intricate and requires great effort from various parts of the brain. With that being said, sit down with your child and ask him to talk about some recent experience that has fascinated him. This is an amazing and very intimate way to improve memory because it also allows you to better know your kids. Try it and let your kids surprise you with their favorite memories!

9. Stimulate their curiosity

This is perhaps the most important piece of advice in this list. You need to stimulate your children’s curiosity to help them become someone who’s constantly trying to learn new things. Here are some ideas: answer all their questions (or better yet, help them find the answers they’re looking for); encourage them to pursue their interests; visit new places and engage in different activities; help them build a reading habit; be curious yourself to set the example.
