Dealing with the weight of the world as soon as you wake up can awaken all sorts of negative emotions, like anxiety. And feeling anxious as soon as you wake up can influence your mood and your energy during the day. If you like to consume content in the morning, choose something positive and uplifting, like a podcast.

7. Having a room full of clutter

Whether you believe it or not, your surroundings can influence your mood and your productivity. A messy environment will make you lose your focus, while a clean environment contributes to an equally fresh mind. Wake up a bit earlier and make your bed, clean the flat surfaces and tidy up for the day – consider this your special morning workout routine, if you may.

8. Don’t drink coffee as soon as you wake up

Coffee can have a positive impact on your health, but it shouldn’t be the first thing you drink as soon as you wake up. As soon as you wake up, have a glass of water – your body has been dehydrating for the last couple hours, so you will want to hit the reset hydration button. While coffee drinks can be great energizers, they also have a diuretic effect, which means that coffee in the morning will only contribute to further dehydration. Plus, if you don’t want to complicate your mornings, try to avoid caffeine after 5 PM, as it may lead to you not getting enough sleep.

9. Prepare for the morning rush

If you have trouble waking up early, stop leaving everything for tomorrow. Prepare your mornings the night before – set up all the things you need to take with you, plan your outfit, make yourself breakfast, and save it in the fridge. You will be spared a lot of anxiety by doing something as simple as making all of your morning decisions the evening before.
